Talk to Angel: Treatment for Hallucinogen-Induced Psychotic Disorder
ICD-11 Code 6C49.5 for Hallucinogen-Induced Psychotic Disorder
If you have recently taken LSD or another hallucinogen and feel afraid (paranoid), are still hallucinating, or haven’t been able to sleep for days or weeks you need to call 911 or go to your local emergency room.
Explain to the person on the phone what has happened and they will send an ambulance to pick you up. The ambulance will take you to the emergency room. At the emergency room, explain to the doctor and nurse what has happened, and they will give you lifesaving antipsychotic medication.
You will need to continue to take antipsychotic medication to prevent the psychosis from coming back.
